Wood Duck in Mist.tif.tif

In 2009, I gave myself a photography challenge. Namely, I was to return to the same location daily with the goal to photography something new over a three month period. I often visited the small ponds in Assinobine Park and the surrounding Assiniboine Forest, and frequently photographed Canada geese and mallard ducks. I rarely saw any Wood Ducks and when I did, they quickly disappeared as they are quite reclusive and skittish. This particular morning started out grey, dismal and a bit chilly. Then unexpectedly, the sun peeked through the clouds just as a male Wood Duck swam through a gently rising mist
